MBM COMMERCIAL SCOOP FIRM OF THE YEAR IN 21ST SCOTTISH LEGAL AWARDS
The winners in the nation’s leading legal awards programme have been announced at a gala dinner and celebration in Glasgow.
The 21st annual Scottish Legal Awards, sponsored by 123 Medical Services, was staged before a packed out crowd of 550 guests and in the presence of Scotland’s hard working legal community.

The ultimate award of the night, Firm of the Year, sponsored by Amiqus, was presented to MBM Commercial, the corporate law firm which focusses on the entrepreneurial community. Their work in across the UK and abroad was highlighted by the judges as inspiring.
The highly regarded Lifetime Achievement Award was awarded to Rt Hon Lady Dorrian, the Lord Justice Clerk and President of the Second Division of the Inner House of the Court of Session. Lady Dorrian is the most senior female figure in the Scottish Courts and earlier this year announced her retirement.
The other major individual award of the night was presented to Stephen McGowan, partner of TLT Solicitors and one the nation’s leading licensing lawyers. He was recognised for his work to support the Scottish hospitality sector during a year of unprecedented change driven by the failed Deposit Return Scheme. The award was sponsored by The Law Society of Scotland and presented by Vice President, Patricia Thom.

For 21 years, this programme has maintained true to these values and does its very best to highlight the positivity and achievement in our profession today.
“We have highlighted excellence in service to clients, care and support to the wellbeing of those who work in our profession and the significant investment being poured into our local communities through wide ranging charity work. The awards continue to support the LawScot Foundation which supports students pursuing a career in law and It’s Good 2 Give, a small charity that supports young cancer patients and their families.
